Scouting for street children known as TTL scouting, through WSB/APR Ticket to Life Project started in Bangladesh in 2006. TTL scouting was flourished under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan (the then National Commissioner - Special Events) as the National Coordinator of this Project in Bangladesh. Now Md. Zahurul Haque, ALT is the National Coordinator of this Project.

Street children in Bangladesh
Bangladesh has the highest population density among the countries of South Asia with 147570 sq.km of geographical area and about 170 million people.
It is estimated that the number of street children in Bangladesh to be around 670,000 of whom 36% are in Dhaka city alone. Half of them (49.2%) are of the age group <10 years, while the remaining falls in the age group of 11-19 years. Their gender composition is boy’s 74.3% and girls 25.7%. Street Children constitute one of the most vulnerable and marginal groups in Bangladesh. Street children have serious impact on the public life & livelihoods and the economy of the country.
There is various Initiatives from Government, Non-Government Organizations to give them shelter, food, clothes, vocational training. It is essential to make them confident of their own capacity and bring them in the main stream of the society. Their position in the society can be upgraded by creating awareness among the community people. Scouting is the appropriate movement to address their vulnerability and turn them as important citizen of the country.
Objectives of TTL Project
1. To involve street children in scouting to assist them to grow into good citizen of the country.
2. To make them aware of Child Rights, thereby enabling them to meet their rights.
3. To involve them in different development activities to be develop as useful and productive work force.
4. To rehabilitate them through innovative extension of scouting program.

TTL Scouting in Bangladesh
Case Study
(a) Girl in Scout Papia Akter: She was shelterless & foodless in earlier age. She lived in slum and had no opportunity to go to school. She was enrolled in TTL Open Scout Unit (Turag) at Sampur, Dhaka.She made herself as Seam Master by taking vocational training. TTL Project pick her and show a way to life. She participated in District, Regional Scout Camp and National Scout Jamboree even in the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, Sweden. She got married in 2013. Now she lives in society and family with honor and dignity
(b) Scout Md. Faisal Hossain: In earlier life he had no shelter & food. He lived in slum. He was admited to non-formal primary institution. He was a scout of TTL Open Scout Unit (Padma) at Kazirbag, Saidabad, Dhaka. TTL Project pick him and show a way to life. Now he is in Honors 2nd year (14th class) at Dhaka. He participated in District, Regional Scout Camp and National Scout Jamboree even in the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, Sweden. Now he is confident to serve the people and nation.
Future Plan
a) Increase the number of unit from 13 to 18 within 2019;
b) Increase the number of TTL Scout from 320 to 576 within 2019;
c) Advocacy for promoting the employment/job for TTL Scout;
d) Arrangement of various vocational training;
e) Make them aware of Child Rights;
f) Involvement in different development activities of national program;
Activities for street children
Each TTL unit prepares troop meeting plan-52 and Country Plan according to the guideline of APR Troop plan and Country plan.
Country plan consists of special events such as, Investiture ceremony, Scouts Own, Unit Camp, Scout Week, Observing National days, Awareness Campaign on Child Rights, personal Hygiene, STI/HIV/AIDS, Life skill based education, Educational Tour, Tree Plantation, Garbage Cleaning etc. Awareness campaign in the society for betterment of street children.

In addition to participation of local events, Scout Md. Faisal Hossain (Padma Unit) & Scout PapiaAkter (Turag Unit)- participated in the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, Sweden in 2011;
Scout Md. MahmudulHasanMomit (Burigonga unit) participated in the 28th APR Scout Jamboree,Taiwan in 2011;
Scout Panjerul Islam Jibon(Meghna Unit) participated inthe 13th Korean National ScoutJamboree, Korea in 2012.
In the 23rd World ScoutJamboree held in Japan in 2015,One TTL Unit Leader Mr. Ad.Abdul Kayum and Two TTL Scout TanjilaAkter (Karnafuly Unit) &Md. Hossain (Shurma Unit) successfully took part.
As top achievers, Scout Md. Faisal Hossain (Padma Unit) andScout Panjerul Islam Jibon (Meghna Unit) have earned the highestaward of Bangladesh Scouts “President’s Scout Award” in 2012.
TTL Scout Md. Jamal Hossain was selected as “Village Chief” inthe 8th National Scout Jamboree, Bangladesh in 2010.
Upcoming the 24th World Scout Jamboree in America in 2019, One TTL scout Md. JonayedAli (Lohalia Unit) selected to take part.
